I have a question – Who can I ask?

I’m always here to answer any questions that you might have. And, I’d love to hear from you! Just drop me an email using the Contact Form, and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

How are your items made?

Hand Stamped items are literally just that, each letter and symbol is stamped into the metal individually with a hammer for each piece. This can create variations in the designs, which adds to the true individual and handmade nature of the items, and is why they are so special. Stamping into metal is a traditional technique which creates beautifully quirky pieces.

There may be signs of workmanship to your item, as these items are made by hand with traditional silver smithing tools. Making each piece by hand can create some slight variations between the item received and the product photo- this is normal due to the process of creating pieces, and makes each piece unique to you.

Bespoke items

I love to take bespoke and personalised orders! Please contact me here Contact Form to discuss your ideas. Custom orders must be paid for upfront, and are non refundable unless faulty or incorrect. Please check your spelling for any stamped orders!! I can’t refund for spelling mistakes made by my customers.

How long will it take for my order to get to me?

At Little Black Cat Jewellery, all pieces are handmade and made to order. For this reason I ask you to allow 10 working days for your piece to be made, this may be longer during busy times- please check the website banner for updates. If you’re in the UK, once posted your order should reach you within 1-2 days. For international customers, please allow slightly longer for your order to reach you (4-6 weeks). I will always get your order out as quickly as possible, but, if you’re in a hurry, please contact me HERE and I will do my best to accommodate you.

Jewellery Packaging

Your handmade Little Black Cat Jewellery Sterling Silver pieces will arrive on a recycled white branded backing card, inside a beautiful purple biodegradable jute gift bag, or within a recyclable gift box (packaging is stated for each item, and is up-gradable). Each order is wrapped in tissue paper, placed inside a recyclable white card postal box, within a recyclable mailer bag to protect your items. Each silver item comes with it’s own mini silver polishing cloth- (please do not not use this on gold vermeil pieces), along with a black anti-tarnish tab to keep your jewellery looking beautiful. If you would like your gift tag to be personalised, please just leave a note at checkout with your required message, and a recycled card gift tag can be added to your item. You can also upgrade your item with gift wrap, finished with a satin ribbon bow.

Your handmade Little Black Cat keyrings and decorations will arrive in a beautiful purple organza gift bag, wrapped in tissue paper, inside a recyclable white card postal box within a recyclable mailer bag to protect your items.

How do I find my ring size?

I recommend that you have your finger sized prior to buying one of my handmade rings. All rings are made to order, and I may not have a similar stone or style available for you if your size is incorrect. If you’d like to be sure of your size, I stock reusable ring sizers HERE. You can order a ring and sizer together, and I will post the sizer to you first and wait to hear from you before making your ring to size.

If you’re an international customer and know your ring size but aren’t sure what size it is in UK sizes, just leave your size as an Order Note at checkout, stating clearing ‘US size’ or ‘EU size’ for example. I’m happy to convert your size into UK sizes for you. Alternatively, please refer to this useful ring size chart by clicking here. If you’re still unsure of your size, please don’t hesitate to contact me using the Contact Form and I will be happy to assist you.

Postage

I post all of your orders with Royal Mail, all orders are sent via First Class Signed for, so you can be assured that your individually handmade pieces are in good hands. Please note that it is the buyers responsibility to ensure that their delivery address is correct BEFORE check out. I cannot be held accountable for this, and will be unable to refund you. Any item which has been returned to me for incorrect delivery address or non delivery (including not arranging redelivery or picking your item up from the sorting office), will require full postage to be paid for again for your item to be redelivered.

Do you ship oversees and to P.O. boxes post Brexit?

Yes! I post all items outside of the UK via Royal Mail Tracked Services, so that you can see exactly where your item is on it’s journey to you. Please note that your items will be coming from the UK, and any customs charges or Duty that your country charges are the customers responsibility. Tax post Brexit will be payable once the order has reached your destination country. Please note that any item not collected, and returned to me, that incurs charges or tax payments will be refunded minus the fee that I have paid to receive your order.
As a rough guide, Royal Mail aims to have parcels delivered to Europe in 3-5 working days, to the USA in 7-14 working days, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and most other countries in 5-7 working days. Italy takes a while longer and may take 3-6 weeks due to Italian customs. Please note that some countries may keep your parcel in their customs office for a few weeks while they are processed.

What’s your return policy?

I want you to love the items you receive as much as I loved making them! If you’re not happy for any reason, please let me know as soon as possible. Please contact me using the Contact Form, and let me know that you wish to return your order/ any problems that have occurred. To obtain a refund, please return the item in it’s original unworn and undamaged condition, including a copy of your invoice (or order number), name and address, within the original packaging for a refund minus postage. A full refund including postage costs will be given for any faulty items. Please be sure to inform me and return the item within 14 days of receipt. Return postage is the buyers responsibility, and I suggest sending returns via an insured method so that you’re covered if the item goes missing on it’s way to me. I will be unable to refund or exchange until I have received the returned item. Please note that returns from outside of the UK must be marked as ‘return’ on the parcel, or the buyer will be liable for any customs charges and post office charges that may occur for your item to get back to me.

Items bought from craft fairs or events where the item has been seen and tried on in person are eligible for an exchange or a gift card to the same value of the exchanged item or higher, unless faulty, whereby a refund will be given.

I try my utmost to describe my items with complete transparency and accuracy. If I’ve made a mistake, or missed something out, please let me know as soon as you can so that I can rectify this for you. I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.

Gemstones are natural specimens, and will have natural inclusions and irregularities in the stones and shapes. This is not classed as a fault- it adds to the individuality and beauty of each item.

Please note* For hygiene reasons and in compliance with EU regulations, earrings are non-refundable unless faulty. Bespoke, personalised and customised pieces are not refundable unless faulty. If you are uncertain of whether or not you are eligible to return something, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Jewellery Care

It is natural for sterling silver to tarnish over time. This can be due to a number of factors, such as exposure to water, heat, chlorine, chemicals found in the body, reactions on skin, skin pH levels, as well as exposure to products and perfumes. It is for this reason that I recommend that you avoid exposing your silver jewellery to these things, where possible. For example, apply body moisturisers and perfumes before putting on your jewellery and remove all jewellery before you get in the shower, go swimming, etc.,

Each Sterling Silver piece is sent out with a mini black anti tarnish tab, along with a mini silver polishing cloth to keep your jewellery pieces beautiful. Please do not use the silver cloth on gold vermeil or rose gold vermeil pieces, as it will damage the coating. I recommend storing your pieces in jewellery boxes or bags to prevent them becoming tangled and damaged. If you would like to have your handmade Little Black Cat Jewellery professionally cleaned and restored, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Metal Prices

All Little Black Cat jewellery is made from high quality materials, and as such, prices are subject to revision according to fluctuations in bullion and currency exchange rates.

Hallmarking

In accordance with the Hallmarking Act (1973), all of my sterling silver jewellery items are Assay standard and hallmarked when over the required 7.78 grams by the London Assay Office. Please note that having pieces hallmarked is factored into the lead time required for preparing orders and into the price of items.

Exchange Rates

As I’m a UK based independent business, all of my prices are listed in GBP. My payment systems of choice, PayPal and Stripe, should automatically convert your order to your currency during the payment process. However, if you are uncertain, please be sure to check live exchange rates.

Using Klarna

If you wish to select Klarna as a method of payment at checkout, your payment will be split into 3 monthly instalments. Your purchase(s) will be paid for in full by Klarna, and your item(s) will be made and dispatched within my stated dispatch time. Klarna will then withdraw the 3 payment instalments monthly from you, with no interest charges or extra fees to you when paid on time. Please note that Klarna will charge fees for any late payments which may occur.
